I had the honor and privilege of making this recent journey to Haiti with Fr. Martin and many other wonderful people. It is difficult to put into words the things that I saw and experienced. The images of children and their families living in extreme poverty that most of us cannot even imagine, will never leave my thoughts or my heart. One of the many things that I learned while on this pilgrimage was the amazing universal way of communicating without knowing another person's language. That universal language is the language of love shown through a smile, a handshake or a hug. God is all around us and we as fellow human beings can share the love of God and the love of one another by a simple smile, handshake or hug. May God bless all of the people in Haiti and bless those who will make that pilgrimage in the future.
